Eduweb
Eduweb has a whole host of interactive learning websites listed by grade or by subject – from engineering to art to reading. The sites are well made. A favorite of mine is Engineering the Wright Way, which explores wing design, control, thrust and weight as students design their own flying machine.
Skype
Skype is the ultimate interactive tool. With Skype, your class can video chat with other people or classes around the world for free!
Google Apps For Education
Collaboration is the word with Google Apps. Students can easily work together on a document, spreadsheet or presentation. Even in Google Classroom, students can “blog” in the stream. Teachers can use either Classroom or Forms to formatively assess. Google Apps for Education is a wonderful tool for students to demonstrate understanding and it is free!
Better Explained
Better Explained combines short videos with explanation so that students learn math concepts rather than a bunch of facts.
Wolfram Alpha
Wolfram Alfa is part encyclopedia and part calculator. It does give the answer to complex math problems, but will also show the step-by-step solutions. It can become multiple types of calculators for engineering, statistics, gas laws, etc. or help you get the weather for tomorrow’s big game.
